This a Victorian-Era murder mystery centered around Scotland Yard Detective Sebastian Bell & nurse Gemma Tate, working to solve a gruesome murder. Although the story started slowly and some aspects were formulaic, the mystery was well-crafted. This was an enjoyable read.

I stumbled across this at the library& thought it sounded interesting: interstellar universe powered by mathematics & long dead, possibly insane general's consciousness is downloaded into captain to squash a rebellion. The writing was lovely, the book just meh (character/pacing issues).

While there were several aspects that made The Enchanted Lies of Céleste Artois a “meh” read I ( character work & pacing) I enjoyed Ryan Graudin’s writing style, ability to weave history and themes into her narrative, and story foundation enough that I may explore some of her other/future works.

I'm ready to return to Roshar. I've remained completely spoiled free - NOT reading the preview chapters and staying away from book tube/review sites. I'm looking forward to this installment, though I am very concerned for several characters. 😨

My current read . . . I'm really enjoying this series, very classic fantasy feel told in a modern style.
