Had the exotic experience (like about 4000 others) of visiting #Samarkand where @unesco.org general conference is being held until November 13. A new DG (EG), a new executive board (RU once again w/o a seat, NO becoming the rotating Nordic member), and I’m back home w a stomach bug 🙄

Managed to run into Prof. Khaled El-Enany, the candidate of the executive board for @unesco.org ’s new Director-General (confirmation expected at the General Conference in Samarkand in November). A former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt and a renowned Egyptologist.
