In 1767, Boston Quakers sparked the Homespun Movement to promote buying goods—especially clothing—made in the Colonies.

“All men are born equally free and independent…”
But freedom wasn’t equal for all.

On June 19, 1865 the last enslaved people in the U.S. finally learned they were free.
