my one question though is
why auburn is french

the core of this story is documenting this german political disposia
so hes just
a french political disposia whom lives with germans
speaks german
and attends german/jewish clubs

crescendoing in this brief passing of a monument to british excellence
their power to reason through a world they create
showing the liberation and hope their cuulture prides itself on
dissmissed out of hand with
"who read it"

genuinely struck by the poetry of its flow

"on the fiftieth anniversary of a woman who allows herself to be called "queen of great britain and ireland and empress of india"" is such an evocative opening description

that is evolved as the wandering dialogue circles back to the powers of london

this page is equally genius
subverting the traditional usage of this layout
orienting the text opposite read order
functionally forcing the reader to "read" the page 3 times
as the lyrics of the song fade in and out

love this splash page particularly
using the bombastic scale to communicate the cold
the way temperature pockets manifest in the physical space underwater communicated beautifully by the impressionistic brush strokes

you could get a cheap ipad and just
disable internet connection and dowload a puncha pdfs

and the dialogue contrast is facinating

alota clunky lucas-isms have been rewritten or moved to narration text

but in its stead are
so many roy thomas-isms
you feel tge lack of faith in tge audience as theres a quote directly from the film
than an added sentence just reiterating the same sentiment

but i do think some of the changes they make to tge original story are interesting
and sone are just marked improvements
(i.e. makibg biggs damarin far more a character and presence in lukes life
(or seeing vader and tarkin planing to let them escape

part of this is just
everyone whos tried to copy hus methods once he began lossing influence has been both worse and far stupider
but idk
its mostly just makes sadn too see intelligent people go insane
even awful ones
