Immich is actually great, I don't know why I hadn't set up it before. I thought that the images get thrown at a database, but no its a customizable great file/directory based system. If I want to take selfhosting seriously I *need* to do backups, but that means buying drives/cloud storage :/

Oh, I thought likes here were public. Tbh I would prefer it. I don't usually ever look at people's likes but I like the idea of a social media app in which every meaningful interaction is public.
