That’s not how sample sizes work. The variance of most estimator statistics incl this one is dependent on absolute sample size, not relative sample size, 1 million miles is more than enough to place human drivers way above the upper bounds of Waymo’s CI. Where Waymo’s exist, they’re safer than human

You do realize that not all numbers above zero are the same magnitude right? Vastly lower fatality rate from self driving cars is perfectly consistent with this vastly lower rate being nonzero.

Are you against any food above subsistence level because people may choke on it? The potential of death is a tradeoff made with literally anything and everything, I fail to see how "a nonzero number of deaths are inevitable" --> "no point"
