I would add to that: GET A FLU SHOT.
Even though the H5 avian flu viruses are different from typical H1N1 & H3N2 flu in humans, there is evidence of some cross-protection from the flu vaccine (Sun et al. Emerg Infect Dis, 2025). I am told this patient was not vaccinated.
