The argument seems to be: there are very few med school slots, so we have reject nearly every applicant. Therefore we can require successful applicants to have advanced degrees. This is not a good way to select for empathetic or skilled future doctors.

The first bullet, “wash your hands” is a directive - very clear. The fifth bullet, about masks, starts with a conditional (if you’re sick..) then suggests (“consider wearing) a mask, not a respirator. Talk about burying the lede.
