Hi there. I’m a Jewish trans woman. Go fuck yourself! You’re welcome.

To boil this issue down to a false equivalency (in this case “stop being racist to my computer friend”) is to double down on your passive racism. Pretty disappointing considering your background, but I guess I can’t expect much from a neoliberal.

I don’t need to argue shit against you! I said my piece. It’s true whether you like it or not. Continue to ignore the many black and brown voices that tell you as a white person that saying that shit a lot and especially DEFENDING its use just makes you look weird and racist. Dig your own grave.

The words “steaming pile of shit,” however, does not have racist undertones like “clanker” does. Especially when you have people joking saying things like “clanka”

What a thought provoking take

It’s strange how vehemently you defend the use of the word. It’s sounds quite a bit like republicans complaining that they can’t say the n word!

As a white person, it’s your and my duty to bring this up at all. Because poc are so often not listened to. I know this feeling very well as a trans person. So there shouldn’t be any sort of ambivalence to what I’m saying. There is only learning and helping.

Personally, I’m concerned about the actual CONCERNS that poc have brought up about this term. To ignore them with a handwave and a “whatever, there’s worse things to worry about as far as bigotry” is to be compliant and neutral. Those who are neutral are ALWAYS siding with the oppressor.

The answer is that quite a few poc specifically black people have pointed out that people have been using this term for thinly veiled racism, so defending its use is nothing else but weird. I find the word funny, especially in the right context. But you won’t catch me dead defending it to anyone.

I absolutely find it funny. But when you’re defending the use of the word, it simply begs the question: what are you defending it from?

As a ui/ux nerd, I love it but I wish they didn’t go so hard on Gaussian blur!
