Love the new bracket system. Congrats on a job well done here. I look forward to the future of Commander

Nice. I guess that game is that good huh. I really should learn how to play it.

A clever approach, I like this. I'll have to try it out with my next deck.

Extremely powerful cards are fun and awesome to play with, but less so when they show up frequently in the majority of games.

** Commanders that tutor are okay, as well as tutors that are necessary to make the deck function as intended. (Rule 0 applies as usual)

3. No tutors except for getting lands **

This one is a bit tricky, given tutor usage varies from person to person and deck to deck, but the main goal here is to increase variety and prevent games feeling the same.

* "You win the game" cards are those with that text in their textbox. "Lose the game" is okay. "Self-contained" refers to cards only from your own deck; other players' cards are fair game. With that said, sometimes accidental infinites happen and that's okay, don't sweat it.

2. No "You win the game" cards or self-contained infinite combos *

Similar to the above reasoning, we want everyone to have a fair shot at playing the game, such that a game won't end where one or more players feel like their choices didn't matter at all.

Philosophy for the Restrictions

1. No extra turns

We're here to each play the game and have fun with our time playing it. When one player occupies all that time for themselves, it's a less enjoyable experience for the other players at the table.

The primary goal here is to make the Commander games themselves feel like you're playing a board game. Everyone is here to have a good time and occasionally try to win the game too. Each person's time at the table is valuable.

This isn't some new format or ruleset, moreso just a method of deckbuilding I've come to prefer, as it results in the experience I want to have while playing Commander.

While the answer is most certainly the fun times I have with the other people involved, there is also an element of a particular gameplay experience I look forward to each new game.

I've been enjoying playing Commander more and more lately, both with friends and with new people I meet at my LGS. Recently I've been reflecting on what I love most about the Commander games I play.

This card is a house in commander. It's one of my favorite finishers/threats in green. Plays better than it reads.

The deck did end up doing exactly what I wanted. I got to play quickly while making calculated and efficient decisions. Several cards overperformed at helping close games quickly, such as Sigarda's Vanguard and Mirrorweave

Ironically, this ended up having the opposite effect, such that other players had to spend more time thinking on their turn about what potential, invisible threats I was holding up each turn-cycle.
