Beware of "discounted services" scams! Scammers pretend to be from phone, TV, or internet companies and offer service discounts. The catch? They demand immediate payment with a gift card to "secure" the offer. It's a scam! Gift cards are for gifts, not for payments.

Knowing which documents to keep and which to shred is key to protecting your personal info.

Keep for a year: Bank statements, pay stubs, medical bills, utility bills

Keep for 3 years: Tax returns, related documents.

Got a "FINAL NOTICE" letter from a bank with a "refund check" attached, urging you to call immediately? It might be a scam!
Before calling:
-Look up the phone number and bank's name online with "scam" or "complaint."
-Contact the bank using a number you know is real.

Pet owners, beware of scammers pretending to be from animal shelters, claiming a car hit your pet, and demanding payment to help them.
Always:
•Call the shelter using their official number.
•Be wary if the caller asks you to pay in cash, gift cards, or crypto.

Mobile payment apps are a convenient way to send money. Unfortunately, scammers use them.

Always:
•Secure account with a PIN
•Double-check recipient’s info
•If you receive an unexpected request from someone you know, speak with them before sending money
