When I first reunited with my biological maternal family in Panamá, I saw myself in EVERYONE'S face. It was a sweet relief and validated everything I am. AND it was a reminder of all I'd lost. All the BOTH~ANDs. #NationalADOPTEEAwarenessMonth #AdopteeVoices #BlackAdoptee #TransnationalAdoptee 🥚

Today is my mom's 94th birthday! She has been gone 2 years (as of July). These pics are from a video of her dancing on a beach during her last trip to Panamá, July 2022, weeks before her 91st birthday. She is missed, but she lived a long, full life! Happy birthday in Heaven, mama! 💜🎉💐

Last night, I attended a Panamanian Attire Contest. There is a Panamania Folkloric Group of Hampton Roads (VA) founded by Audomelia "Aura" Robinson (last photo), a Panamanian woman who married & moved to the U.S. in 1970s. They put on a weekend of events annually in Newport News, VA. 🇵🇦💃🏾🎉
