"We gather strength as we go."

(Opinions expressed not endorsed by Starfleet.)
Amen. There's just something about under-slung nacelles and a roll bar...

Look, SOMEBODY has to put in the actual no-glory work of providing services for a quadrant-wide polity and it sure as hell ain't gonna be a Galaxy-class.
November 22, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Clearly, a person of impeccable taste!
November 22, 2025 at 6:05 PM
I mean, it IS a famously versatile platform...

As all right-thinking people do.
November 22, 2025 at 6:03 PM
...a person of impeccable taste, I see.

Miranda ignorance is never stupidity. You were failed by an Earth primsry school curriculum that prioritizes "reading" and "math" and "basic replicator prompt formulation" over "Miranda-class studies".
November 6, 2025 at 4:12 AM
Clearly, you have a natural eye for the subject.

People with such correct opinions are welcome to Taco Tuesday in our mess hall any time!

(...as long as that time is on a Tuesday.)

Excelsiors get Respect.

Mirandas get RESULTS.

Why use a Lego kit to get a Miranda?

There's a vibrant community that restores and flies ACTUAL decommissioned/demilitarized Mirandas.

They host these big "invasions" where they all get together to drink beer and show off their paints/mods.

Also rubber ducks are involved for some reason?

A mighty fine Miranda!
October 22, 2025 at 3:57 AM
As far as bluffs go that was a stupid one anyway cuz Mirandas in that configuration didn't usually HAVE Chambies. They just stuck the subspace receptors on the rollbar to (mostly) avoid subspace interference from the warp nacelles.

Modern Mirandas DO though, kinda. Usually Chambers-Tybok hybrids.

Oh man, this is going to give our junior techs some ideas, isn't it?
October 22, 2025 at 3:39 AM
When two Mirandas go down they scavenge enough parts to bash together a new Miranda, register a new name, and everyone gets back to WORK.

When one Defiant goes down everyone cries about it until Starfleet let's them rename some other ship so they can pretend it never happened.
October 22, 2025 at 3:38 AM
That's the thing about Mirandas. We're ALWAYS still around.

...except for fleet actions against the Borg or Dominon but 1) You can usually patch Mirandas back together with sheet metal and some self-sealing stem bolts and 2) It isn't like anyone ELSE puts up perfect records there, either.

GODDAMMIT GUL DONALD STOP HELPING
October 22, 2025 at 3:29 AM
Mirandas aren't actually bigger on the inside but with legendarily on-the-fly customizable deck plans you'd be forgiven for thinking they are.
October 22, 2025 at 3:27 AM
Mirandas don't use a nav deflector because at-speed we just run shields in ultra-low-power mode.

It was considered pretty clever at the time but obviously it didn't catch on.

You can technically transport through them at that level, but the safety regs all say not to do it except in emergencies.

...but you'd probably have to fix the Miranda Class first.
October 21, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Funny, we had to do a similar thing to OUR shuttle bay when our only hull-rated replicator broke.
October 21, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Mirandas are more like Ford E-series vans.

Old, kinda ugly, but with a long weekend, a buddy, and a case of beer you can customize one to hotshot cargo, support construction, advertise services, transport a soccer team, or setup a pretty-okay overland camper.

But with phasers and a sweet rollbar.
