Adjusting it manually rn, many cases where color just isn't good. The purple on people from ssh with a forced TERM= since my Linux boxes don't recognize ghostty is just one of many gross edges.

I'll publish ms edge, vscode, neovim/lazyvim, obsidian, mkdocs, ghostty, and other themes next year.

Of course! Developing kalilix in my personal github for now, will probably move it to github.com/scopecreep-zip before cutting a v1. Local cloud is a Kubevirt on Talos cluster automated with Pulumi. New generation IaC drops by EOY.

I've driven most of that route!

Probably be fun driving out but after doing that and then kubecon the slog back would feel so long.

Hrm. I've built several snaps, a couple from scratch and ported several others.

Can you describe "not ideal"? Especially in terms of daemons?
November 4, 2025 at 4:57 AM
Wait what u just said is cool and I don't think it's even difficult.

Fuck damnit I'm going to sprinkle wasm on it before this rabbit hole reaches its end.

No I like this.

But could be xkcd bc if you rip container related crds out of k8s it..

No bc also gui apps.

This is a fun idea 💡

I do not like flatpack under any circumstances.

Snap doesn't like global theme integration but otherwise it plays very nicely in desktop, phone, and server deployments, locally and remotely managed.

It's really neat under the hood.

But nobody knows it, nobody is going to learn it. (I did but..)
November 4, 2025 at 12:44 AM
Had canonical made better choices I can see an alternate timeline where snaps saved us from a lot of fragmentation pain.

But the game is over, snaps will never take significant market share and they need to realign with the market and innovate in modern tooling instead of clinging to the past.
November 4, 2025 at 12:42 AM
Snaps were a neat contribution and if canonical had let go a little more and made it more of a community owned project I expect the results could have been better.

Also, they need to let go of launchpad. Nobody wants to use git via launchpad it's contributor hostile.
