The lies about grocery prices being lower and foreign countries footing the tariff bill never really fazed me either. Every check-out lane and a quick glance at any receipt was always going to debunk them. What’s baffling is his insistence on doubling down, as if reality will somehow blink first.

To be fair, it’s tricky to tackle the affordability issue when their leader seems philosophically opposed to the very concept of affordability. It directly contradicts his business model.
