Following our work with the KOA, USCB powered on with our own advocacy efforts at Capitol Hill! Our team members did such a great job speaking with staffers about what is happening on the ground and necessary steps moving forward.

With the advocacy training behind us, USCB joined KOA 's Youth Civic Education and Advocacy Day. For many, this was their first time ever to advocate in DC. Every single person did such a phenomenal job! They took everything they learned and put it into practice.

Over the last month, USCB co-facilitated a series of advocacy training sessions w/ the Karen Organization of America for KOA's Youth Civic and Advocacy Day. It was so amazing to see so many Karen youth and community leaders from different states coming together to advocate for #Burma.

USCB is deeply concerned by last week's removal of junta cronies from the US sanctions list. The U.S. & int'l community must keep pressure on the junta by cutting off its access to weapons, fuel, and funds.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Rep. Gerald Connolly. During his tenure in Congress, he was a strong advocate for human rights and democracy in Burma. He was a passionate defender for the voiceless, and he believed in leading with compassion while ensuring justice and accountability.

On May 12 at 10am, the #Burma junta launched an aerial attack on a school in Oe Htein Twin Village, Dipeyin Township, #Sagaing Region. 20 children & two teachers were killed, and 40+ were seriously injured. Deadly events like these highlight the need to implement strong aviation fuel sanctions!
