I think this is where the jading comes in. You knew he was scum and just extrapolated that out to more scummy shit because that's what sellouts do, look at half the modern fgc "influencers" now rimming MBS for cash.

But, there are still a lot of people who don't assume the worst even with signs.

Play the Japanese version, it's on JPGC too. It has the finished final boss fight, otherwise the final boss of the US version sucks.

In Europe.

SYAC, rest of the world.

I mean I fuck with the Noise Tanks hard but at no point have I desired to or even wondered what they smelled like.

Gonna guess motor oil and the inside of a big box electronics store like Circuit City.

I have apparently 12 hours in PQ now, but at least 6 or more were me leaving the game open and writing on my phone, or on discord, or playing Kirby Air Riders, or at one point I played EO2U for a good hour on my n2dsxl while sitting in a battle in PQ. It's definitely not keeping my attention.

Either way, EO can kind of feel like an obnoxious slog until 3rd stratum (god I fucking hate the primitive jungle and auburn thicket. Misty ravine is w/e and jagged reach is cool tho) so I'll keep trudging along here until I reach an equivalent point.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
It would be nicer if they were equippables like EO2U's grimoires. The way PQ handles sub-personas feels a lot like a form of EO1U's grimoire fusion which is fun, at least. Part of the fun in EO1U was getting a good skill or two and fusing them onto other good stones, and I'll totally do that here.

That's where I'm at so far. I don't hate it, but the freedom of classes and skill points in EO really make the gameplay shine, letting you build out how you want, and this severe restriction blows chunks. I have a Recarm and Media card but don't know if the healer is going to learn Recarm or when.

Picked up the P4 cast, time for the fanservice. I see the eldest sister is chuuni, the middle sister is lazy and conniving, and the youngest brother is a bottom, and then the characters do fanservicey things. I unlocked quests, at least. Benched Aigis and frontlined Kanji for bash damage.

Summons card soldiers that don't do much but die insanely fast to any element and she doesn't do too much but higher tier element spells that can oneshot your characters, so pack beads. Even without the HP walls that were MC and Mitsuru she barely hurt back row and Fuuka's heal over time negated it.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Game poorly argues that they're running low on stamina, then a cutscene. There stand Mystery, Inc. All doing Jojo poses before I get hucked into a fight with an assortment of them against some pissant card soldiers, then it's finally the boss time.

She's nothing to write home about.

Eventually reach the final floor at lv. ~9-10 for everybody. Queen of hearts, swarm of soldiers, duh. Normal battle theme against 5 soldiers, oh this is where the scooby gang shows up. Whomp the soldiers in one turn, they respawn, Mitsuru calls for an all-out, immediately wipe them out, more come.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Summoned the 70 and 92 dlc personas and shoved them on my frontliners so I can spend more than ten minutes in the labyrinth without carrying twenty beads since nothing ever targets the back line. Dealing damage is no issue and every encounter is the same shit. Enemies kinda tanky here.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Ended up with MC/Mitsuru in front, Yukari/Aigis/ZenRei in back. Try Aigis for Orgia, seems like a shitty force boost that burns her out for more turns than she does meaningful damage for. Despite that, with subs, have near full element coverage. Halfway through floor 3, tire of this shit.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Also, these kids suck. They're pretty much entirely one note. Junpei is the worst and it doesn't help he's voiced by a sex pest. By floor 2, even though he's not in my party and I don't have to hear him every battle, he earns the game the voice volume slider 0% treatment. Game rises a letter grade.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Here I kept having to go back because a lion would smack MC for 70% of his health before another one followed up for a kill and I already ran out of revival beads. This would have been insufferable if it took Dormouse pages when it made new beads.

Changed party a bit when I get dragged back out.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Reminds me a lot of EO2U. However, that has things like Survivalists' Resuscitate or Medics' Revive that are available fairly early as well as things like Protector's damage mitigation, and your first few trips to the labyrinth are intended to be shorter as you learn the limits of your party and TP.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
The amount of coddling is making me wonder if Persona would have any difficulty if the game didn't give you a game over when the MC dies. The encounter balance sucks here. You get some HP and SP from your sub-personas, so enemies hit ridiculously hard to compensate to whittle at your actual stats.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Lengthy explanation for your first one-way shortcut, lengthy explanation for seeing TWO FOEs...

They think you're all idiots, they have to. This is absurd. Even EO2U at its worst laid off after floor 1 of Ginnungagap.
December 9, 2025 at 5:58 PM
They do this on every floor when the FOEs act slightly different. It's ridiculous. There's coddling and then there's whatever the hell this is. They stop you in front of doors repeatedly to tell you there's a fight on the other side of the door. Just... let me open the damn door!
