#huevember2025 Well... If I'm not catching up I'm at least maintaining 3-4 days' delay.

That said, I made it to 50 comics! Now if I quit I don't have as much regret. (That said I'm not throwing in the towel juuuuust yet, though I admit it still lingers in the back of my mind)
Heading: Huevember 10 - 100 Comics Number 50 Panel 1: Habetrot from Fate/Grand Order, a small fairy with pink hair and pink clothes, including a two-pointed hat with big red buttons on the front, stands with folded arms. "Alright, so that cackling green Avenger of yours has commissioned me to make you a wedding dress," she says. "Let's start with the big question: what do you want in a dress?" Off-screen, Usagi, my sona, answers. "Well, at this rate we're likely having a December wedding. I know that's awfully short notice, so..." Panel 2: Usagi shyly holds up a long-sleeve white dress with a high collar and a layer of lace throughout. I promise it looks lovely in-person. "... How about something like this? It's what I wore for my 'church wedding' with Ember (to put it simply)." Panel 3: Habetrot raises a brow. "Are you sure?" She asks. "You can ask for something new, you know... Don't worry about time." Panel 4: Usagi takes a moment to think and begins to open up. "... If it's alright, then, I'd love to incorporate elements from Princess Serenity's gown from Sailor Moon." "*Now* you're talking!" Habetrot shouts from off-screen.

Another comic for #huevember2025! I sketched out a bunch of new ones at work this week, so hopefully I can catch up a little. But if not, well, life's not about being able to produce the most art at the fastest rate, now, is it?
Heading: Huevember 8 - 100 Comics Number 48 Panel 1: My sister-in-law, Erma the chinchilla, holds up a green hymnal as she stumbles over unfamiliar lyrics to an unfamiliar tune, along with the rest of the congregation. Seriously, whose idea was it to sing this specific hymn? A few wobbly music notes float around her head to help illustrate the concept. "Ehhhhhhhm," sings a voice off-screen to Erma's left. Panel 2: "Ehhhhhhhn," the off-screen voice continues to sing... letters of the alphabet? Erma looks down to her left to find... Panel 3: Her daughter, my three-year-old niece, who is in fact singing out each letter of the alphabet as the congregation struggles with the obscure hymn. This panel is brought to you by the letter "O." Panel 4: Erma sets down the hymnal to cover her mouth and supress a laugh as her daughter proceeds to sing the letter "P."

Jiji, a fluffy black cat, comes to investigate his favored human's latest activity. He takes a few steps onto the tarot cloth. "Oh hi, Jiji!" Usagi says from off-screen. Panel 3: Jiji flops onto the tarot cloth and looks up at Usagi, fluffy silver-gray belly exposed, purring up a storm. "Wh - hey, buddy, I need that...!" "But then there's so much work involved, and is that even fair to the others when I didn't have a wedding with them? I mean heck, the closest even Ember and I had to a proper wedding IRL was our temple sealing and receptions --" "Not to worry, my accomplice," Edmond replied with a smile. The chinchilla is holding a baby red panda, my niece who's been featured in earlier comics. Here she's only a few months old. "You're two of Ember's sisters, right?" The calico, labeled as my grandma (Nana) asks. "Yep!" Erma the chinchilla replies. "I'm Erma, and this is our big sister Kupo." Panel 2: We see Nana from the front now, with stars in her eyes and her hands clasped together with excitement. "So Usagi has sisters-in-law now! Do you ever go shopping together?" Below this sparkly speech bubble is a sketched scene of, left to right, Kupo, Usagi, and Erma all holding shopping bags as if they were at the mall. Panel 3: Erma and Kupo each give an awkward look. Heading: Huevember 3 - 100 Comics Number 43 Subheading: Redraw from Hourly Comic Day 2024 This comic is all in one panel. We start with two narration boxes summarizing a part of my day that I based this comic on when I first drew the original on February 1, 2024. "9 pm or so After taking my friend home, I stopped at the only Jack-in-the-Box I've seen out here for a treat I haven't had in ages: an Oreo milkshake and some churro bites." "Their drive thru had one of these arches at the entry??" The comic itself shows the back of a brownish SUV-style car going through a drive thru with a lit arch at night. Above the entry to the drive thru is a light-up neon white arch with a bright yellow cone hat, meant to resemble the mascot for the US fast food chain Jack-in-the-Box. Also featured is a small illustration of the aforementioned Oreo milkshake and a small churro to represent their mini churro bites. On the bottom right corner, we have a mini-panel showing Usagi, my sona, behind the wheel of the car. She says "Ooh, fancy~!" as her mouth makes a kissy face meant in this case to resemble whistling. Heading: Huevember 4 - 100 Comics Number 44 Subheading: Redraw from Hourly Comic Day 2024 Another single-panel comic, though this time with just one narration box saying "9:30 pm, home at last." In the panel itself is an illustration of Usagi, my sona, holding a small bag of churro bites to hand to Ember, my wife's sona. Usagi is on the right and standing; Ember is on the left and seated at her desk, her hands on a keyboard. In the bottom left corner there is a little black-and-white dog looking up at the couple with big shining eyes. "I got you churros!" Usagi says. "Ooh~!" replies Ember with stars in her eyes. "I can has too?" asks the dog in a thought bubble. "Mrah!" Our cat, Jiji, meows from off-screen to welcome me home. He likely also has some interest in the fast food goodies Usagi brought from her outing.

Two comics today 'cause this one was easy enough to crank out! #huevember2025
Heading: Huevember 2 - 100 Comics Number 42 Panel 1: Widescreen shot centering Jiji, a fluffy black cat with some silver accents on his chest and yellow-green eyes. One dialogue box on the left reads: "In honor of reaching Comic Number 42, I decided to make the theme of this comic Jiji's reactions to life, the universe, and everything.*" Another on the right side of the panel reads: "*That he observes from the window." "Mew!" says Jiji. Panel 2: "No activity of note." Jiji is shown simply staring ahead, no apparent reaction in his body language. Panel 3: "Bird/other creature" Jiji remains mostly expressionless, though one can see a slight swishing of his tail. His interest is piqued. In real life he may rapidly move his head/eyes to get a better look at what he sees. Panel 4: "That darn neighbor cat who lives at the house behind us" Jiji has gona full airplane ears, the tail flicking has intensified, and for the sake of readability in the comic he has a glare on his face.

Still doing comics after all! I just might fall behind now and again, And That's Okay. Also since I'm integrating the comic challenge with my usual fall art challenges, this means November comics will be merged with #huevember2025 which means COLORS.
Heading: Huevember 1 - 100 Comics Number 41 Panel 1: A widescreen panel showing two figures, and a hand taking a communion or sacrament tray stage left. Hence forth communion will be referred to as sacrament, as that is how it's called in Latter-Day Saint contexts. On the left is my oldest niece's fursona, a red panda - featured in another comic from this challenge back in September. She's 3 now, but was 2 at the time this story occurred. There is a square narration box indicating such. On the right is my niece's mother, a gray chinchilla with brown curly hair tied in a bun, one of four sisters-in-law. Her narration box introduces her as "Sister-in-Law Erma, said niece's mother." Erma also has a light purple church bag to her right. The two of them are sitting on a pew with reddish upholstery, with a yellow-green background matching the hue for Huevember day 1. "More snacks, Mama?" Niece asks in a hushed voice. "Let's wait for the water," Erma answers. "The water and the bread are to help us remember Jesus." Panels 2-3: Niece turns her head to look to her left, and sees a lion man in a suit reverently partaking of the bread portion of the sacrament. The lion has a wavy-curly mane and, since we're seeing this panel from Niece's view, has the appearance of a halo around his head as one would see in medieval Christian art. Panel 4: Another widescreen shot, with the lion man from Panel 3 left, and Niece and Erma on right. Niece is tugging on Erma's right arm and pointing to the lion man with sparkles in her eyes. "Is that Jesus?" she asks at full volume. Her mother, amused but mortified, answers in a whisper "No, that's just a guy." The lion man, who we see from this angle is earing a yellow tie, looks over to the little family with a bit of blush and an amused look on his face. One gets the impression that he gets this kind of response often.

Quite late in most time zones by now, but! Here's today's comic! Happy Halloween, and maybe don't mess with suburban backyard chickens...
Heading: Artober 31 - 100 Comics Number 40 Panels 1-2: A raccoon climbs over a chain-link fence from one backyard into another. Panel 3: The raccoon finds a chicken coop, or at least what looks like one, in the new backyard. Panel 4: Thinking of potential for delicious fresh eggs, the raccoon licks its lips and rubs its hands together in a scheming fashion. Panel 5: The raccoon breaks into the chicken coop by chewing or clawing through the front door/gate. Panel 6: "Bok?" A bunch of chicken-looking silhouettes with glowing eyes turn towards the raccoon. Panel 7: The raccoon glances behind to see a particularly menacing shadow-chicken... Panel 8: And runs out of the coop screaming - even breaking the bounds of the panel border to get away from these "chickens."

It also alerts two human characters off-screen. "What the heck was that??" "I'm just gonna close the window now..." Panel 2: Usagi, my sona, appears on screen wearing pants and a sports bra to close the window. Jiji hops down from his perch to go lounge elsewhere. "Whatever made that sound," Usagi says, "I hope it wasn't after the neighbor's chickens." Panel 3: Ember, my wife's sona, pipes in from her seat at her computer near the window. "Maybe a raccoon just learned the fun way that the neighbor's chickens aren't chickens." "What do you mean 'aren't chickens'?" asks Usagi. "What else could they be...?" Panel 4: Ember only responds with a smug expression, still seated and looking right at Usagi who is off-screen. "Ember," Usagi says. "Ember, what does that mean? Ember. EMBER!"

Usagi, my sona, asks Jiji, a fluffy black cat, as they both look out a window into a grassy backyard which is, indeed, currently occupied by two magpies. "Meow!" Jiji replies. Panels 2-3: Usagi looks over to Jiji. "You're a very vocal cat... But I don't think I've ever heard you do hunting chatters." Panel 4: "Ya know, like 'ek-ekek ek ek ek ek!" Usagi turns to face the camera as she does her best imitation of a cat hunting chatter, while Jiji is curious but unamused. Panel 5: Usagi turns to look at Jiji, who is now looking at her with a quizzical expression. "Pfft, what's that look for?" Usagi asks in amusement.

Edmond says this into Usagi's nearest ear in Panel 2, naturally eliciting a shocked, blushing respond in Panel 3. Panels 4-5: Usagi pulls away long enough to answer Edmond's proposal with a warm smile, and then a kiss. "... Of course I will." In the bottom right corner of Panel 5 is a box that reads "END."

Usagi says as Edmond grabs her from her chair to straddle his lap. Panel 4: The two look at one another as Usagi settles in her new position. Panel 5: She then leans in and hugs him around his shoulders, her tail wagging behind her. "I'm not going anywhere," Edmond reminds her. "I know," Usagi replies. "I'm trying my best to internalize it."

Heading: Artober 25 - 100 Comics Number 34 Panel 1: Usagi and Edmond sit in silence for a moment, appreciating one another's presence. Panel 2: "After we reach Bond 10," Usagi asks, "Do you need a break from the front?" Edmond opens his eyes to answer. "Mercedes - I mean, Nurse Nightingale, said that given the nature of your quick summons, I can still fight." Panel 3: Usagi looks up at Edmond incredulously. "... Did she *actually* say that?" "Have I ever lied to you, my accomplice?" Edmond asks with furrowed brow. "Not that I know of...?" Panel 4 "And I don't plan to start now," Edmond replies with a kiss on Usagi's head and raising his arm that was around her shoulder to pet her left wolf ear. "Apparently those grails you've given me are also helping." Panel 5: This last statement causes Usagi to realize something. "... Asclepius signed off on this so he can study the effects of Holy Grails on a Servant's health, didn't he?" Edmond bursts into laughter. "KUHAHAHA! You know your Servants too well!" "Well yeah," Usagi says, "It's kind of my job?" "And you do it splendidly, like everything else you do." "Pfft, you flatterer."

Heading: Artober 24 - 100 Comics Number 33 Panel 1: Usagi looks down, her brows furrowed and her ears flat. "I know logically that it'll be okay. That I won't actually lose you in the Avenger Ordeal Call." Panel 2: "Heck, this is weird to say but I guess I even stand to gain from it, if I'm lucky enough to summon your other self." Here she is looking up with a half-smile and a shrug of her shoulders. Panel 3: Then her shoulders drop and the smile fades. "... But it's still hard. Especially knowing that you're suffering." Panel 4: Edmond stands up and moves towards the chair to his right, beckoning Usagi to join him in the chair he was previously occupying at the kitchen table. "Master. Come sit with me a while." Panel 5: Usagi silently nods. Panel 6: We see the two from behind, seated next to one another with Edmond's arm wrapped around Usagi's shoulders, and Usagi's head leaning into him.

Struggling with tomorrow's page, so I'm saying screw it and posting today's now. Tomorrow's may be even later than I've normally been posting them here because of said struggles and also juggling these comics and commissions. At least I'm nearly done with the background-intensive pages...
Heading: Artober 23 - 100 Comics Number 32 Panel 1: "Edmond...?" Usagi asks, rushing to the kitchen to see... Panel 2: Edmond casually sitting at the general-use kitchen table, a cup of coffee in hand resting on the table. His left arm is draped over the top of the chair as he greets Usagi with a warm smile. "Ah, Usagi. Welcome home, my star - both here and in your own world, judging by your attire." He also comments on Usagi having found her cat slippers. Panel 3: "It's 1 am," says Usagi, her tail curled around her right leg and her right arm holding her left. "What are you doing drinking coffee?" Panel 4: Edmond frowns. "... You're still worried about yesterday, I take it." "How can I NOT be?"

Heading: Artober 22 - 100 Comics Number 31 Panel 1: Usagi enters the TNS through the front door. Light from the dimensional portal she actually came through floods into the main living room area. There's a window with the curtains drawn back to the left of the door (right of it from the viewer's standpoint), with a sofa in front of it. Next to the sofa is a small end table with a lamp on it. Near the center of the room, between the sofa and the stairs leading to the second floor where the universal portal to residents' rooms are located, is a kotatsu on top of a rug. Usagi herself is wearing pajamas with a pair of cat paw slippers. "Looks like most everyone's in their rooms for the night," Usagi thinks to herself. "Makes sense, given the hour." Panel 2: We get another view of the open area of the first floor, showing some of what Usagi sees from her standpoint at the door. There's a large window covered by drawn curtains and part of a formal dining room table with chairs and a lace tablecloth in the center. To the right is a threshold with no door, from which light is emitting to illuminate this scene. "Light's on in the kitchen," Usagi observes. "Coffee smell..." Panel 3: "Edmond, you dork! Making coffee this late..." Usagi smiles to herself at the thought. Of course, it could be any other TNS resident. But it's usually Edmond. Panel 4: "Wait!" A thought occurs to Usagi's mind. "Didn't Nightingale JUST SAY that he needs rest?!" Panel 5: A flashback panel with a gray overlay shows Florence Nightingale as she appears in Fate/Grand Order. With a stern expression, she says the following: "Mr. Dantes is in no shape to be running about so much! He needs treatment and rest."

Heading: Artober 21 - 100 Comics Number 30 Panel 1: We get a view from behind of the two girls chatting away without a care in the world. "You know," says Abby, "With you, me, and Uncle there, it almost felt like we were going on a picnic!" "It was kinda fun in its own way, wasn't it?" says Usagi. "I didn't like the big things chasing us, of course," Abby replies, "But I wasn't scared. Especially since there were two Uncles." "Double Edmond...!" Panel 2: The only text is a heading that reads "The Next Night at Usagi's Place (Technically Nonexistent Space or TNS)". We see a large, multi-story house in the wilderness under a starry night sky. On the left hand side of the panel , the house is partially obscured by the silhouette of a large coniferous tree.

Heading: Artober 20 - 100 Comics Number 29 Panel 1: A bit later, in the waking world... We see a handwritten letter on a flat surface. It's signed with a hastily scrawled version of Edmond Dantes' emblem. "I'm going on ahead," it reads. "This is good for exhaustion. Drink it." "Hehe, Uncle is so considerate," Abby says off-screen. Panel 2: "Uncle Edmond, huh?" Usagi asks Abby as the two sit on her bed on the Storm Border, each with a cup of warm drink. "I didn't know you were that close." (There wasn't room to specify it in the comic itself, but it's coffee - after a few years and a bit of a faith journey, Usagi is more flexible about the coffee and tea points of the Word of Wisdom, at least.) Abby takes a sip of her coffee. "I've never talked with him much before," she says, "But even so..." "He gives off that vibe, huh?" says Usagi. Abby nods. Panel 3: "Even after everything today, I'm still worried about him." The camera is now focused on Abby as she holds her coffee. Her eyebrows are furrowed as she expresses her concerns to her Master. "And I notice you two are really happy together lately. I don't want either of you to lose that..." Panel 4: Usagi looks at Abby with an unreadable expression. "... Me neither, Abby." Heading: Artober 19 - 100 Comics Number 28 Panel 1: "Let's go," Edmond says. "Like my other self said, the Waste Pit is no place to stay for long." Panel 2: "Wait," says Usagi, walking closer to the Count of the Waste Pit. "One last thing. Since I know for sure now that you two are separate, I figure this is only fair." Panel 3: Usagi stands up on her tip toes, wraps her arms around the Count of the Waste Pit, and gives him a kiss. The Count of the Waste Pit, understandably, is quite shocked and slightly embarrassed at this action. "Thank you for everything," she says. Panel 4: "Take care of yourself, okay?" She tells the Count of the Waste Pit with a smile before rejoining Edmond and Abby. Panel 5: The three dream-walkers are together again, with Edmond and Usagi each wrapping an arm around one another. "Now are you ready?" asks Edmond. "Yep!" answers Usagi. "Usagi..." the Count of the Waste Pit thinks to himself. "My accomplice as much as his. I'm sorry for what we'll have to put you through."
