Hearing Tim Peel fully admit on Twitter a while back that refs were instructed to manage the game instead of calling it as is was all I needed to know about how the NHL operates. Gives them the freedom to interpret what a game needs and its complete bs. It’s why the late 2000s Ducks existed lol.

For reference I was a teenager then, my perspective is limited to my then teenage brain.. my personal opinion is that they stay the course developing drafted talent until you have enough that free agents look at and want to be a part of it.. until then you miss out on FA due loc./team and overpay

You should’ve heard this town shouting for Yzerman to be traded in 1994. Not exactly a town known for its patience.. Larkin isn’t yzerman and we’ll see what happens. I don’t think anything’s off the table with the lack of grit this team plays with year in and out.

Crazy seeing Teemu Pulkinnen so high up on that list. Kid had so much potential and never figured out how to play with less time and space.. He was a monster in the AHL though

Ask yourself if any amount of poop residue left on your tush is acceptable to walk around with all day and you’ll have your answer. And then ask why it took so long to make the switch.

This really bums me out. Good kid and has had a couple of really good seasons the past two years.

I said it when it happened and I’ll say it till he’s retired.. letting go of Jim Nill is the worst thing the Red Wings have done in the last 30 years.. it should have been him over Holland. Hindsight is 20/20 but I knew it then too.

Loosely it looks like everyone is playing minutes and a style more suited to their roles as most have been marginally better since he took over. Seider and Edvinson stand out. Exception seems to be Holl which matches the eye test. It’s a shame with him as he has every tool except the mental one..

It started the minute that first goal went in. They know Husso has no business being back there and they played scared all game, second guessing every decision. Went straight back to Lalonde mode.

Yeah you could see it right after that first goal. It was like muscle memory for these guys after getting caved the whole season and not trusting the back end.

The pad lift on that second goal was unbelievable.. he had the save, he was in position and he overthought it. He’s way in his own head and I don’t know if he’ll ever be confident in the NHL again.

I feel like you’ve never had a buzz trying to walk down the treacherous steps to get back to your seat or had to piss in a trough 😉 The Joe had so many amazing memories but was an absolute dump. I think they did a pretty good job with the new place.. it’s beautiful inside.

Seider looked like a top 5 D in the league last night and has been trending that way the last few games with his effort. So much fun to watch him play.

Call all of his pro scouts over to Ozzie’s to rewatch every game this season and throw them all in the wood burning fireplace.. (the contracts not the scouts)
In all honesty just get as much as you can from trading Kane or Lyon.. not sure either are going to net much anymore
