My new book, Surfing and Modernity in the North of Scotland, is being released on 1 October by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. It's not just a book about surfing (though surfing is in it!): it's a book about how the north of Scotland, & indeed Scotland itself, has changed, & where it might be going.

L’école d’été proposée sera la troisième édition d’un partenariat entre l’Université de Montréal et Nantes Université, après une première activité en 2022 à Nantes, puis à Montréal en 2023.

If I had a nickel for every mention of surfing in a poem read during an Irish Studies conference in which I talked about Irish surfing, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it is odd enough that I'd have 2.

Draft of the first part of the thesis is sent, which gives me a few weeks to work on a paper for the upcoming @sofeir.bsky.social conference in Cork.
