Truthfully, a bit of everything! I have a bit of training in classical and jazz, and my car karaoke playlist has R&B, pop, musical theater, country, new wave, and more. I sang folk songs daily when I was teaching elementary music. But singing with others (in a choir or otherwise) is my favorite!

Absolutely. It’s so easy to forget that our energy is limited and everything we do takes energy. I don’t want to waste my energy on ineffective & exhausting forms of political activism anymore.

I’m trying to remind myself that I don’t need to do political work in every online space I’m a part of, which has been really helpful in avoiding that particular kind of burnout.
