While a team of Greenpeace activists have locked themselves inside the Agrifeeds storage shed to stop a shipload of palm kernal unloading, two orangutans have climbed onto the roof and deployed a 70m banner.

It's so dry inTaranaki. Soil moisture content is down to 12%. The strong southerly winds have contributed to the drought. The awa that usually flows past our house has completely dried up. Instead of watering our gardens, we are irrigating the creek to keep the native fish alive in a small pool.

It is a pretty bleak election outcome for the climate, for the poor and marginalised. NAct will try to open up more oil & gas exploration in Taranaki & do nothing to reduce agricultural emissions. We are committed to organising nonviolent direct action to oppose further fossil fuel exploration.

How is your day going? Ours ... a bit average. Some egg drove their ute into our gate, drove onto our property & then left. Second time in a month. Last time these racists drove through our fence and then into our Te Pāti Māori billboard. A total bully who just wants to intimidate us.

Minor parties win the floor at intelligent and confrontational Taranaki climate debate
It was posited as a debate, and it was a good one, but it was also an extended telling off for the only right wing candidate to take back to his party.
