I wound up going to a pub to get some rando to witness my ballot. It just so happened that the witness was barred from entry to the US!

I barely got my absentee ballot mailed from abroad by election day this year, and not for a lack of planning or trying! Was traveling in a rural area and had to find access to a printer twice (for ballot application, then ballot, several weeks apart), then find a witness to sign my ballot!

I voted from abroad and went to a pub and got someone who happened to be banned from entry to the US to witness my ballot. Glad I did, though, because mine was among the last few counted ballots that preserved ranked choice voting in the end!

My late partner was the king of one-legged stick shift driving after he broke his leg. He used a cane to depress the clutch and the good foot for the gas and brake. He drove around Boston like that!!
