The Italian MS Society’s #SentiComeMiSento workshops help us all understand invisible MS symptoms. Tools include TENS machines for tremors, scratched glasses for optic neuritis, gloves for sensory loss, and weights for fatigue. These simulations build awareness of MS challenges. #MSAwareness

Shocking statistics about inequalities in accessing screening programmes; well worth a read to give the full picture and hopefully the parliamentary petition triggers a debate and change

First elective weekend Spinal Injuries Urology list done in the unit in a long time. A deceptively large amount of time goes into planning the logistics of weekend lists and very pleased with how it has gone. Looking forward to the next one in a few weeks’ time! #urology

Updated our neurourology rUTI advice leaflet from 12 years ago. The evidence base for rUTI diagnosis & management in this population needs to improve; I hope when this is due for updating that there is new information to add! #urology

Methenamine hippurate might be more cost effective (? £40) than prophylactic antibiotics for recurrent #UTI. Data isn’t conclusive though. #urology

Productive spinal injuries research meeting this morning followed by a very pleasant theatre list. Great coffee has been a theme during the day ☕️👌

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time given how many other surgical/urological organisations are on here, but I’m looking forward to when BAUS and BSoT also have a presence here. The amount of productive dialogue and networking on here warrants their engagement #urology

Excellent joint neuromodulation operating with colorectal this afternoon. Always great to share and learn tips and tricks with other colleagues!

Mild snow gave me an excuse to avoid driving, and instead do a run-rail-run commute. Glad the Yak Trax are coming back into use now I’m back in Yorkshire.

I feel there’s now enough momentum on this platform that we could have a starter pack for functional and reconstructive #urology - is there some sort of etiquette for this? Or does someone just go for it?

Great to see so many friends & colleagues moving across to Bluesky. Feels like the old platform did 10+ years ago; hopefully the momentum continues and all the noise and mess are left behind there, whilst we can continue to learn, share and entertain over here. I don’t care if that sounded cheesy.

Feels like I’m on here early for a urologist but seems such a happy environment and different. Looks like traction is happening though. #bringthemacross
