Daine's sigh is equally loud, born of frustration and exhaustion - her life is not worth any more than Cassandra's or anyone else's for that matter. Unfortunately, Cassandra does not agree and before Daine can open her mouth to soothe her ruffled feathers, Cassandra beats her to it. "You weren't moving and I... I was terrified." She is gone, the flap of their tent shoved violently aside before Cassandra's words can settle. The ache in Daine's chest returns tenfold and this time when she hunches over to cough into her palms the petals make perfect sense. Grief.

My first Rook #JuniperMercar
