Congratulations to @emmawalters.bsky.social for slaying her dissertation proposal defense and advancing to candidacy earlier this month. Emma’s work focuses on the politics of repair in left behind places and stands to make a major contribution to our understanding of urban governance.

Congratulations to MUP student Zhenpeng Zhang for successfully defending his Masters thesis advancing techniques for an equity-focused approach linking urban heat islands, housing, and urban forestry. Thanks also to Professor Fang Fang for co-advising Zhenpeng with me.
