UPI hosts LID as a continuing education opportunity for experienced peacemakers to develop their personal, professional and instructor skill sets, and go on to teach sessions in the Urban Peace Academy. Each participant is paired with a mentor—a veteran peacemaker themselves—to support their growth.

Last month, we celebrated another graduating class of the Los Angeles Violence Intervention Training Academy (LAVITA). Over 144 hours, intervention workers engaged in personal and professional development to enhance their peacemaking skills.
