There’s definitely a reason, but only just having found him you won’t have had enough conversation for context which is fine, every playthrough is different. Astarion’s story doesn’t really unfold until the next act, and he’s closed off and not super likable until you understand why he is that way

There are definitely two camps, and Gale gives me the ick, but it’s all what makes it an amazing game
