Reread this yesterday. 1st time since middle school. Read it when my dad had just got a union job after a long unemployment. He thought we were rich since seniority mattered, had health insurance, etc. Instead of college, he told me find a union job.
Somehow, it seems even more relevant today

The sun is down and darkness begins to set for another long winter's night. So, another shot of the beauty of winter, once again made appealing by lights strung up for us to enjoy outside or viewed from the comfort of home.

On the long, cold #winter #Illinois nights don't forget #nature has #beauty in winter too. Hedges & vines lose their leaves but hedgerow lights make cozy night walks. Plus, now & then @path's end U may find a fire, biscuits, smores, hot chocolate, hot cider, brandy treating those who venture down.

Another #book that taught me ever so much. Probably not really one of the 20 as it covers so many topics, but it sheds a ton of light into our #foundingfathers. Right up there with Poor Richard's Almanac for insight into Franklin's wit and prescriptions for the human condition. #history #benfranklin

I won't say this is one of the twenty that most influenced me, but it is a really fun book. I love reading the less known letters and works of our founders. I love finding the thoughts and logic behind their lives, and sometimes it helps us understand the pieces that are revered. This 1 is just fun.
Benjamin Franklin. "Fart Proudly: A letter to a Royal Academy." I gives great insight into the mind and humor of one of our most misunderstood founders.
