We think new housing is cool. But new housing that respects the neighborhood and prevents displacement? That's pretty cool, too.

25 Meadow St. in Larimer is getting some love thanks to the Local Share Account. The Local Share Account uses funds from gaming revenues around the state to support projects that benefit Pennsylvania. Applications for LSA grants are due November 7.
A rendering shows the future of 25 Meadow St. in Larimer. Currently, the building is just a garage. The rendering shows it will become a small, one story building that will support a commercial tenant. There is brick on the front of the building and an aluminum or vinyl siding on the side of the building. There are large windows in the front of the store.

On Wednesday, October 1, our Commercial Lending team will be in the West End and North Side to let local business owners know about our loan programs and technical assistance. If your business is starting from the ground floor or just fixing a leak in the roof, we can help you out.

Can you say "Q2 flew" ten times fast?
An infographic for the URA's quarterly outputs in Q2 of 2025. Here are some of the ways the URA has supported folks in Pittsburgh: 493 renters and homeowners received legal assistance; 21 new homeowners were supported from URA programs; 87% of residential borrowers were women or POC; 73% of commercial loan borrowers were women or POC; 24 businesses received technical assistance; 2.4 million dollars in URA investment created or preserved 33 housing units; 1.7 million dollars in URA or InvestPGH loans and grants supported 13 small businesses; and 215,000 dollars in URA investment went to maintaining 1258 lots across the city.

We love our local businesses! Today, we visited Chicken Latino, Alquisiras Palateria, and Las Palmas to let them know about our low-interest lending programs and more.

A portion of the southern end of the Nine Mile Run Trail will close starting July 7, 2025, and the closure will last two weeks, ending on July 18, 2025.

Instead of accessing the Nine Mile Run Trail via Old Browns Hill Road in Duck Hollow, bicyclists and pedestrians can take Parkview Boulevard to Summerset Drive, turn left onto Forward Avenue, and then right onto Beechwood Boulevard, leading to Squirrel Hill access points, including the Riverview Trail and Blue Slide Playground entrance or the Beechwood Gate Entrance. If descending from Swisshelm Park, bicyclists and pedestrians may use PennDOT’s relocated trail, as part of the I-376 Parkway East - Commercial Street Bridge Replacement project, to access the northern end of Nine Mile Run and Frick Park. This path may face intermittent closures. The URA does not recommend using the portion of Forward Avenue between Summerset Drive and the former Irish Centre as there are no bike lanes or sidewalks.

Last week, a group of employees stepped away from work for a day of service to celebrate Juneteenth.

Together, we helped Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank sort and pack over 6 tons of boxes, plastic, and canned goods for their partner organizations to distribute.
