It's that time of year when mushrooms are growing everywhere, and their transformation is sometimes astonishing. Just look at the amazing shaggy mane mushroom (coprinus comatus). Also a little creepy.

Stage 2 of the life of the shaggy mane mushroom. The barrel has opend up and now looks like a hat with an black sticky mass at the rim of the hat. 3rd stage: the mushrooms cap starts to dissolve. Black ink-like substance runs down in thick oily strings.

The first Kestrel I ever "shot". It took me weeks to figure out where his favorite overlook was and then sneak up on him. My Panasonic DMC FTZ 200 did the rest of the sneaking.

35 years old Eagle Owl. Was rescued as an egg, hatched and stayed in the bird sanctuary.
