Exactly! They clearly said ILLEGAL orders and he’s saying “my orders”, which says to me that he’s admitting that his orders may be illegal.

They only stated what every active service member's commanders should be reminding them of every day. And if they aren't, there's something wrong. A service member who obeys illegal orders is not protected from prosecution in the future and they need to keep that in mind.

As a veteran who served in the Intel community I can say that their message was spot on, & Trump's reaction is proof he intends to issue illegal orders at some point in the near future. With Jag having been gutted, it's anyone's guess as to how the military will proceed. They'd best remember oaths

Only with approval of the state governor. If the guard is federalized and operating outside that authority, they fall under posse commitus same as regular military. Short of using insurrection act, the federalized guard is explicitly prohibited from domestic law enforcement
