Guess I should do my own introduction post - I’m a GIS guy / cartographer located in Upstate NY. #NACIS is my happy place. Happy to talks maps, Star Wars, LEGO, dogs, freelancing and anxiety management (lots of overlap there). Want more info, check out my 2019 NACIS talk:

Last night I gifted a tour map to my favorite indie Canadian Celtic band Còig. Map made in ArcGIS Pro with Natural Earth data, @johnnelsonmaps.bsky.social modified firefly symbology and a sprinkling of @sarahbell.bsky.social BellTopo Sans font

Have seen posts criticizing people for not leaving Twitter/X sooner. Can’t we just be happy that the community here is expanding exponentially? Let’s end the cycle of good not being good enough. Everyone has their own way of doing things, they’re here now, don’t drive them away with negativity.

So happy to see an influx of my old carto-twitter community coming over. Hoping this platform will someday resemble the "good old days" of lots of mappy discussions and a way for #NACIS members (and others) to stay connected outside of conferences
