Var needs to be entirely alone to feel safe enough to sleep, or sometimes they can sleep around someone they trust. They like soft, overly plush blankets and pillows. Sleeping itself is a gamble though, it's a 50/50 chance they'll have nightmares.

I wouldn't say Varen's comfortable with self-reflection, but they are capable of it. However, those moments of self-reflection often go south because Var is extremely critical of themself and everything they do. It's a double edged sword during most attempts.

Varen absolutely does for their late husband. If only they had figured out he stopped taking his baloparidol sooner, maybe he’d still be here, maybe they could’ve stopped what happened. Var still feels greatly responsible for his death, it’s changed them irreparably as a person.

Being that Varen isn’t V in their canon, their life would’ve changed if they’d managed to convince their late husband to leave NC after they got married, to go with his clan, the Aldecaldos. But, he wanted to give NC a shot. Both Lux and Varen paid for it. No happy endings in Night City, right?

Varen is more than willing to die for their loved ones, it’s all or nothing for them. Once they love you, that’s it, you have their loyalty, devotion, and life if it comes down to it. Down the line, their canon ends in them dying in order to protect their family.

They'd want to be able to trust people easier. Trusting people for Varen is like pulling teeth, life in Night City has taught them that everyone has ulterior motives. This isn't wholly true, they know that, but regardless, they can't take their mask off-- changing that is easier said than done.

Var, despite their demeanor, is a very emotional person. They feel very strongly, though usually can't put a name to those emotions other than white hot rage. They can keep their cool MOST of the time, professionally, but a loved one in danger is going to make them snap like a rubber band.
