This can manifest as attempting to pull someone away from an officer, blocking an officer’s path, or shielding another person from detention, or also intentionally releasing a "dangerous animal"

According to LegalClarity, a class A misdemeanor is the highest level of misdemeanors but less severe than felonies. NY law does not distinguish between active and passive resistance (e.g. going limp), but it does consider intentional vs reflexive movements. legalclarity.org/resisting-ar...

The Federal Defenders of New York are a local org that deal with Federal level cases including cases involving ICE and Civil Rights specifically for individual clients - it looks like they can help if you can't afford a criminal defense attorney. www.federaldefendersny.org
