#OTD in 1755, the birth of John Marshall. He almost triggered a constitutional crisis in 1800 when he wrote an anonymous letter discussing how the House could deadlock electing a president indefinitely and the Secretary of State (Marshall) could take over on an emergency basis.

Thanks, Flintlock!
3/ Give me Rick Heli's Founding Fathers. Give me Daniel Bullock's The Gods Will Have Blood. Fuck it, give me Richard Berg's Campaign for North Africa.

Give me niche settings the designer is obsessed with. Give me defiantly commercial print and play. Give me weird explosions of creativity.

If you're in the US, the new Revolutionary War Weapons documentary is now available. A little like Mythbusters, it has both helpful animations and recreations to help understand era technologies such as the musket, rifle, tomahawk, artillery gun and even submarine! (link below)

Ken Jennings read off the clue: "An 1806 duel involving this future president resulted in the death of Charles Dickinson." And while viewers at home were ready with their answers, the $400 clue was met with crickets from all three players.

Sad to hear that designer Kory Heath has lost his battle with depression. Reserved, but thoughtful, he liked discussing game design. In Zendo and Blockers he created 2 palpable hits, as well as many other #boardgames. He, and the games he will never bring us, will be missed.
