We had a great day yesterday at the DCVS postgraduate showcase hearing about the research our PhD students are doing, and a wonderful keynote talk from @neuroirena.bsky.social on how the heart affects our perception of time

Yingjuan Liu hosted a public event at FoGuangShan Temple with the Buddha’s Light International Association Manchester. An educational lecture was delivered to a lay audience, followed by a vegetarian food stall, blood pressure tests, and blood glucose tests

Over 4 weeks, 28 members of the Division teamed up to do a walking/running challenge, with the aim of doing a collective total of 3000 miles. We made it to 3843!

We held 2 very popular bake sales and raffles! These alone made up ~half of our total. At our last bake sale, we had a few items left over and used a lab trolley to go mobile! Dedication to the cause

Through out February and March, we organised a range of activities as part of a fundraising competition between the BHF Centres for Research Excellence and recipients of Accelerator Awards, which included 8 Universities. Ultimately, we raised a total of £3144! Here's a summary of what we got up to

The day ended with scientific snapshot talks from 5 of the CRE's early career researchers, and an overview of the importance of EDI (equality, diversity & includsion) and PPIE (patient & public involvement & engagement) to the work of the new CRE
