While true, one problem I encounter when I don't have a garbage disposal in the sink for smaller bits of food is that I just don't fill my trash fast enough. Often times I have to take out the trash long before its full because the food I've scrapped into it is starting to rot and smell.

I'd say both cause in my head they are different sounds. Like if you rubbed a balloon youll get both squeaks and sqrks out if it.
