Yes, you're right it is thinner. Taste wise though, I don't notice much difference. I remember back in the 90s when sour cream appeared in the UK, often with potato skins for a starter, I was obsessed with it 🤣

Ha ha! Yes, usually it would be but there was half a pot of creme fraiche needing using in the fridge. I'm a big lover of sour cream. Tbh though over the years I can't tell the difference too much anymore.
