I get it, since my early teens I have wanted to be like... a ball of light, unable to feel physical stuff but still able to do things.

Since the PS4 it has been a lot of the same, realism looks good enough now, VR isnt even the exciting way forward due to the needed "no longer getting sick while using it" training period for many, so we are kind of stuck at the moment

I know im in the minority but I still love seeing people push the limits of older hardware, seeing what coding wizards could do in the NES for example, in modern game development you no longer need to even worry about limitations, in part the new possibilities are what made new consoles exciting.

Alongside "we'll think of a solution when the time comes" and the time is never seen as having come ever (climate change being an example)

Secrets in those oldschool FPSs tend to be more helpful goodies, and not really obligatory to progress. the self contained nature also greatly helps with reducing fatigue in my opinion.

Of course. In Metroidvanias for example you can get lost in a much more fundamentally unfun way than in level by level FPS games. I have given up on Metroidvanias by being so lost and ill equiped to where I got to that it was easier to restart the game. in FPSs it never got to that for me.

they are very different styles of gameplay surprisingly. I am the opposite, I love metroidvanias but dont really tend to vibe with the maze and key collecting of early FPS games. Metroidvanias dont tend to have the same zen quality that flowing through an early FPS map does...

Thats the sad thing about America, its soft power has waves. Events in america keep affecting completely unrelated countries, and while some can argue the rebranding of the far r*ght in Europe and South America was unrelated, it sure started with America getting that president years ago.

online it's strange, because usually in real life saying you love your partner would just be a pretty normal display of affection, but online, at least in some places, it's almost seen as bragging that you have a partner... personally I love my partner, though am used to not discussing such online

Ive found most times its easier to draw vent art later, when more neutral emotionally, and just reflecting on how I felt. Cause most times when I feel bad I very much dont want to do any sort of art at all yeah.

In general the more artforms you know the more connections your brain makes, making it easier to learn further artforms as you notice more parallels between them, its rad!

Those authors do not directly benefit from fan creations, thats why fan works are good expressions of fandom despite harmful authors. Some can argue it could make people check out the original work... but the fans themselves tend to tell you not to support the authors so people find other ways.

I like that style of easter eggs, like they went out of their way to add a trigger specific area to have a pop-up AND fire lightning at you, it's cute, developers having fun kinda stuff

The closest modern equivalent we have to a handheld console of a pocket size, are those emulation handhelds from china capable of emulating multiple consoles... they arent a "new portable console" but you get to play many even non-handheld console games...

But now, with added context and a different social environment, I dont use it, and I choose not to use it with people that would rather not hear it due to its real life use... its fine I lose nothing out of not using an old slur casually.
