My daughter showed up at the door with a gift. A book of knitting patterns for babies. Haha I got immersed by the book so it took wayyy too long to get it that she was telling me my first grandchild was on the way

I'm an elderly woman who lives 2,730 miles (4,393 kilometers) from Washington DC. I live in the mountains with currently two feet of snow and DO show up in the nearest city an hour away. It's a huge country not lazy just vast distances.

My daughter had the foresight to do that 10 years ago. It broke my heart. Now she's trying to talk me into joining her in Scotland. How fortunate am I (not going though staying to fight for my country)
