I agree. But until we can rid ourselves of testosterone fueled aggression, it seems reasonable to minimize the fear for as many people as possible.

Women have more to fear from men than vice versa.
Male fantasies include aggressive invasion of safe spaces. Individuals cannot be assessed for risk so we use appearance.
Women are justified in being frightened by someone who might be a cis man.
As a cis man I am not frightened by trans men.
