It’s genuinely baffling to me how the GOP has managed to maintain a reputation in basically all media as the “law and order“ party and the party of “fiscal responsibility“ in contradiction to all readily available facts

it is a solid tell that people aren’t thinking they are just mindlessly repeating narrative, conventional wisdom and spin

Arguably, they’re neither, because they’re typically about existential, nihilistic concepts, which go well beyond any RW/LW boxing.

I’m not particularly well-versed in spotting scam artists, but

I think it’s funny to call this blunt, I’ve seen it as a fairly well-done, non-pretentious nihilist allegory.

It’s one of those little things that tells you he’s just an old man in decline. He’s propped up as a mascot, but he’s not a leader. The psychos in his Cabinet are more or less running things with no oversight because the literal President has already functionally degraded to being a child again.

Like, it’s valid to point out how Neo-Nazi’s exploit ignorance and emotionally manipulate people with surface-level charm.

But that’s not a diatribe on “the Left,” that’s “not enough people realize a seemingly-pleasant person with shitty political views is ultimately just a shitty fucking person.”
