I wanted new placemats for the dinner table for Christmas but they all seem to come in packs of 4 and I needed 5. I had a rummage in the loft, dug out some suitable fabrics and made some. They’re far from perfect but they cost me nothing but time.

Today we went down to Southend for the poppies on the pier. Between me, my daughter @theartisticdragon.bsky.social and my mum, we contributed 100 poppies to this installation. It was a lovely, if very bracing, day out.

My clever dad plays the mandolin and banjo but he was frustrated that finding a string winder for a smaller instrument was a trial so he made some himself! Aren’t they beautiful 🤩 I might be able to offer some for sale with an option to personalise with initials. #music #banjo #mandolin #strings

I only had a day to make this so I used a stock image I bought years ago because there was no time to draw and burn and paint!
Hand burned onto the wood and hand painted to match the wedding colours.
