thinking abt how I find a lot of villain apologists to be sus in their personal philosophies, and this gets to the heart of it... just because someone is sympathetic actually does not justify their actions, and if you think it does, ur sus to me

A folding fan really was a deadly weapon when it came to acting badass—he could feel his B-Points explosively surging by the second!

I think about this constantly... Sometimes, people make it seem like the Jiang Sect is more chill oe fun for WWX, and it's interesting, because, really, WWX's temperament is to make everything fun for himself

How do you swear in the Gusu dialect?” Lan WangJi threw a “pathetic” at him, and got on another boat. Wei WuXian didn’t expect him to really answer. He just wanted to tease him, after hearing the amusingly soft Gusu dialect and thinking that Lan WangJi undoubtedly also spoke this dialect when he was young. After raising his head to swallow another gulp of the rice wine, he carried the plump, jet-black jar in one hand, picked up the paddle, and charged over to beat up Jiang Cheng.

However, soon afterward, the MeishanYu Sect proposed an alliance through marriage to the YunmengJiang Sect. The leader of the Jiang Sect back then was quite interested, but Jiang FengMian had no such intentions. He didn’t like Yu ZiYuan’s conduct and felt that the two wouldn’t be an appropriate match. He had politely refused the offer a handful of times. However, the MeishanYu Sect set about multiple factors, putting pressure on Jiang FengMian, who was at the time still fairly young and had nothing to lean on. Along with the fact that, not long later, ZangSe SanRen had become cultivation partners with the most loyal servant at Jiang FengMian’s side, Wei ChangZe, and rode off into the sunset, roaming around the world, Jiang FengMian finally gave up. Although Jiang and Yu were married, they had ever since been a grudging couple. They had always been living apart and held the most disagreeable of conversations. Aside from the strengthening of their sect’s powers, nobody knew what other benefits they had attained.

If you think this is troublesome you don't need to pay heed to me, you can take it as a joke, it's nothing.." Shen Qingqiu swung his fan down on Luo Binghe's head, making a resounding "pa". He said, "Nothing my ass!" Luo Binghe's head was unexpectedly struck by a fan. He touched his head, blinking once and again. He didn't understand why he'd been hit. Shen Qingqiu on the other hand was terribly annoyed by his innocent expression. Just a moment ago he still was secretly happy, and the very next moment the damn boy goes, "It's nothing, no need to answer. Take it as a joke!" Because of that last sentence, Shen Qingqiu flew into a rage, swinging his fan repeatedly, "So you can crack jokes about this kind of thing?!" Luo Binghe obediently took the thrashing, saying in an aggrieved voice, "I was wrong..." "Gege, want to get married?" "..." "...Huh?" Xie Lian was startled. Such a gaze, such words, they were in such close quarters with nowhere to run. Instantly, colours exploded in Xie Lian's vision, and his mind went completely blank. His entire person was frozen, stiffer than a corpse. Seeing his reaction, Hua Cheng took his arm back and snickered. "It's a joke. Did I shock gege?" "..." This is a love story. It's about gentleness, dreams, something never to be given up on, and someone never to be forgotten. During middle school and high school, sometimes I'd write some mind-boggling stories, but I've always had a random fixation, the belief that a person shouldn't see love as their life. They must have their own ambitions, their own ideals, their own goals in life, blah blah blah, otherwise - TGCF postscript they won't have their own soul, not independent, blah blah blah. But, later this idea slowly began to change. Because I realized, although I'm always saying people shouldn't put so much emphasis on love, truthfully, what attracts my eyes the most is oftentimes the people whose emotions are so powerful they're like moths to flames. Does this count as the body being truthful while the mouth lies? Either way, after realizing this, I can't help but think what I thought when I was young is too arrogant and single-faceted. How can someone love another so deeply with abandon? Is it laughable? It's too incredible, can it really be done to that degree? They must have obsessive disorders! There's probably not one in a million! But then when I think about it, a shocking dummy like Xie Lian, who works hard but pleases no one, refusing to look back even with his head cracked open, is equally hard to find one in a million. So if looked at in this way, then the two of you really are made for each other. I've seen you at your worst, but so what. You are my dream. - TGCF postscript

In the abandoned draft, Hua Cheng often sang to his beloved a love song in a long-lost language his mother taught him. If Xie Lian asked what he's singing, he'd blink slyly and tell nonsense. But as the novel progressed, I realized Hua Cheng's parents and his background didn't necessarily need to be written, so we can just chat about this setup then let it go, it's not important. - TGCF postscript
