I was introduced to Bob through the Major League movies, but found myself turning on the radio for the 5th inning on to catch him call games, even though I'm not a Brewers fan. Great weavers of tales are found everywhere and he was one of the best. RIP.

I love malty beers and lagers, so this Black Lager by Shiner (Shiner, TX) was great when I visited the brewery a few years ago and still great today. Super roasty.

I know it's darker beer season, but this Lil Wit from Right Proper Brewing Company (Washington D.C.) is a great almost session-like Witbier.

B: Regardless of what the beer shelves have been saying, now is the time for Pumpkin Beer (ALWAYS after Oktoberfest and before Stouts). This is the best one hands down. Pumpkin Ale (Alewerks Brewing/Williamsburg, VA) has solid base beer with good pumpkin/spice that's flavorful but not overwhelming.

Happy Halloween! While we usually have around 300 kids stop by the house, early estimates are that it could be more than that as it's warmer than usual (and most will be 'sick' tomorrow for school). I wasn't much for dressing up, as denoted by this picture taken...a few year ago.
