Better. I don't know if the knob can be removed safely and the japanning is flaking off, but it should be functional. The blade is decently square but will be reground with the others. #woodworking #restoration
The plane assembled. I don't know if the knob can be removed and I'll need to chemically derust some parts. Sole and sides shined up and oiled, and the edges rounded just so.

Partial restoration of a vintage Stanley jack plane. Presumably a #5. More derusting and blade work to do. Old enough that it lacks a frog adjustment screw.

Pastewax applied to complete the finish on this A.C. Bartlett #19 jointer plane. I believe this plane is at least 100 years old. I have the original blade and breaker as well. Not sure about the screw. I'd need to see more examples.

Lapping some very rusted vintage planes. Before and after shot.
