But who knows, maybe over the course of the story, she could learn a thing or two, cuz the lady's improving, so maybe don't give up hope!

Trying to make sure I get the right Zazz with Deedee has been a treat because she isn't a bad person, she is just been famous for so long that she doesn't know how to be normal and how to do the right thing

With the hair for Deedee, I kinda felt the more bright reddest hair that Meryl Streep had within the Film adaptation fit Deedee a lot more, compared to the more subdued red Beth had.

Based off her Actress in the Broadway, Beth Leavel, Deedee's loud personality stands out in every moment she is brought into the story. And my lord the costume designers really made sure she had the goddiest outfits known to man.

Of course despite everything Alyssa continues to be this ray of hope for Emma throughout the entire book and while trying to make sure everyone is happy, she knows she's not herself or what everyone else wants, she's someone in between..

Also some minor emotion work trying to really get down the aspects of Alyssa I want to portray, she is a very soft and sweet type of person. Also her hair is just really fun to draw.

Based on the actress, Isabelle Mccalia, who played Alyssa in the Broadway production, it's been an absolute blast balancing this two sides of Alyssa in her art as she tries her best to make both Emma and her Mother happy. But we all know how that works out.

Remember Emma! Just Breathe!

With her design as well, the outfit was inspired by the actual promotional animation they did (as well as some of the posters) with the animated Emma they used

Absolute a blast to design her around her actress Caitlin Kinnunen, using multiple images through the whole production with this image being the beginning inspiration of how I wanted Emma to look!

Some expression work for her as well! She is always a blast to draw from her cheerful expressions to the absolute sass she gives.

Now the book also has some differences (like Trent and Angie being fused into Barry and Deedee or the fact we actually meet Grandma Nolan!) but I know that I want to still represent some of the "musical" exclusive characters and moments!
