Bonus: common merganser time let's goooooooo
A female common merganser grooms herself on a rock at the pond's shore. The picture is blurry as it's very hard to get near these punks. I've drawn a red circle and arrow with an "OH!" to point out the duck-shaped smudge as the merganser in question. Note the red head and slight crest; female mergansers are fancier than some males of other duck species.

The black-capped night herons are lively as hell rn. As in, standing around like lumps in full view instead of standing around like lumps in the shade where they're hard to see.
A night heron stands on a boulder next to the pond. Maybe it's enjoying the late afternoon sun before it goes back to fishing or picking a flight with another heron.
