So, even on screen, pore people are backgrounded everywhere.

I did think it made his thumb look preternaturally long. If It was a time-travel type transmigration story, I'd have guessed some sort of data recording or transmission device: ¿Como se dice "Maxwell Smart" en Mandarin?

My idiosyncratic typos are proof my posts are from me - AI could never fake it right😀

Time to pull out my bag of excuses - it's too early, I haven't finished my first coffee of the morning, I need new glasses, I have CP. Pick one 😆

Roshan's double thumb was always quite obvious in his films. It was said to be considered auspicious, and definitely didn't hurt his career

Maybe like the Hindi actor Hrithik Roshan, he has a double thumb?

For the years from the mid-80s to the mid 00s when I actively followed NRL, cockroach supporters on this side of the ditch were only slightly more numerous than actual roaches in an operating theatre. FWIW, I hate cockroaches 😀

In both cases, the affection has weakened significantly. Making this country ex-centric, I guess

The Warriors are the only NZ team in the NRL, and in their decades long history, they've easily outdone Spurs in mastering the art of winning Sweet FA. Hence, ain't no such thing as a happy warrior

HOWEVER, the Rugby League series between Queensland and New South Wales (the series is called The State of Origin) has MUCH more imaginative team nicknames:

Cane toads

cockroaches

The Warriors had a pre-season game against Manly here today, the result made me think of something I said to myself last week: I was starting a book called "The Happy Warrior" I said out loud "here in #Aotearoa that's both an impossibility and an oxymoron" 🤦‍♂️🙄

This one looks really interesting. The disabled representation will be worth checking out - not something East Asian Dramas are famous for doing well.

I read a mystery/thriller last year, The Museum Detective by
Maha Khan Phillips, written and set there inspired by a real-life crime. The overriding takeaway from it for me was "how do people live there?"

Yeah, even when I was a tween in the 80s I'd tease my Dad "wanna go home to Quetta?" and he's always just reply with "why?"

The more I learn about Pakistan the more it seems to me to be teetering on the brink of being a failed state. Sad and frustrating
